Add shortcut keys to Open, browse, view

We ask our users to not open a dataset in edit mode if not needed. On ISPF days it was always the same effort to open a dataset in browse, view or edit. In Remote Systems view, double click opens in edit, but to open in browse or view it needs right mouse button, finde entry, click entry.

 Providing simple shortcuts for every of these possibilities would be a great advantage. Best would be Ctrl + [E,B,V].

    Thank you for taking the time to suggest an enhancement to our product. Many of our product enhancements result from feedback from our customers, so your input is always very important to us. We feel this is a valid requirement but delivery within the RFE 2 year window is not likely. Please resubmit in 12-18 months for reconsideration if still valid. Again, thank you for your suggestion and continued support.

    Hi Andre, there is already a way to do this via automatically generated mnemonics. On Windows, a user may use shift+F10 to bring up the context menu on a selected resource. In that menu, the mnemonic character to use for a given action is presented. To invoke one of the context menu actions, user just types the corresponding mnemonic character. For example "o" to open a file. Does that meet your needs? If so I will close this RFE.
