Support SYSTEM= parameter for WSSYS or add a new parameter

Three years ago, we migrated from JES3 to JES2 and changed in TWS to Virtual Workstations to have some kind of load balancing. Recently we migrated from IBM AFOP to IBM System Automation. With SAz we got the requirement from our Automation Team to not close the Job Submission in TWS during planned IPLs.

 

Now, even with removed QAFF from the LPAR we plan to IPL and jobs running on different LPARs, we get OFSS errors for submitted jobs. The reason seem to be, that the job was originally submitted by the Tracker that is running on the LPAR which is later shut down.

 

With SHUTDOWNPOLIY we're able to stop the submit on that LPAR. But without any SYSTEM= specification the job could still run on the LPAR which will be IPLd. With PH22448 there was an enhancement in combination with WSSYSAFF which would solve this issue. But: During migration from JES3 to JES2 we decided to not allow JES2 JECL to be used. Instead, we only use the SYSTEM= paramter of the job statement.

 

TWS should be enhanced to support the change of the SYSTEM= parameter of the job card, instead of adding SYSAFF JECL, as JES2 JECL is optional and haven't to be enabled in all shops. SYSTEM= will work in every environment, even in JES3 environments.
