This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Z Software products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

Currently in order for the AD z agent to read the CICS CSD, the CICS SDFHLOAD library has to be added to the AD STC steplib. Because the AD loadlib is APF authorized, this forces the user to ALSO APF authorize the SDFHLOAD library which is NOT something that is normally done or recommended by the CICS support staff. If a customer does NOT APF authorize the DFHLOAD library and concatenates it to the AD loadlib, they BOTH loose APF authorization and the AD STC will NOT start. This is a z/OS security restriction. Therefore, BNYM is asking for the development staff to add ANOTHER DD like the DFHRPL which is added to the CICS STC so a NON APF module can be loaded from it and executed by the AD STC. This will allow a customer to add the SDFHLOAD to the AD STC without having to APF authorize it.
Workarounds such as adding the 2 modules that AD needs from the SDFHLOAD to the AD loadlib cause maintenance issues because the DFH* modules will be updated by SMP/E in the SDFHLO
AD library and NOT in the AD STC loadlib.
This requirement will benefit any customer using the AD STC to read the CICS CSD.

AD Connect provides an alternative way to accomplish CSD retrieval without authorizing the SDFHLOAD library. It is already available in 5.1.0.4. It's implemented by the Rexx integration feature that allows the agent to optionally service requests in a separate unauthorized batch job instead of the main authorized AD agent address space.
A preliminary evaluation of this request indicates that it is consistent with our business strategy. Further evaluation of this RFE is underway.
