Adding a timeout feature in IDz

We have developers reporting that when a program is in edit mode then the component will show up as locked. There are several times, devs forgot to close the programs and the releases cannot be deployed unless the devs go in IDz and close the programs. Some devs suggest it would be good to implement a timeout feature, so that after a certain amount of time not receiving actions from the user the lock can be released. And when IDz is closed, the opened programs will be released and closed as well.

    Thank you for submitting your idea, all ideas are highly valuable to our development teams. We have examined this request and would like to offer a suggestion. Have you tried using the DSTORE_IDLE_SHUTDOWN_TIMEOUT=<time> server option? You can controle how long to leave the connection idle before having it time out. timing out. Once the timeout is hit it will trigger the release of the locks. Your sysprog could set that value to be something low like 100000 (about 17 minutes) if the current timeout value is too high.

    Or you may suggest that your developers browse file which wouldn't lock the file at all.
