RFE for header file cache optimization on C compiler

We would like to see the following implemented with the C compiler frontend just like it is for the C++ compiler frontend beginning with Xlc 12.1:

-qxflag=dircache[,m[,n]] where m and n are optional
* m is a integral prime number between 2 and 71 and controls the size
of the per directory hash table - the default is 11
* n is an intergal number between 1 and 999 which controls the maximum
number of directory entries that are cached - the default is 10
A combination of m and n along with the number of files in the
directories will determine the memory overhead for this caching.

    Hi, thanks for the reply. As of today, this RFE is available on z/OS. Since this is not in our current roadmap for AIX and the number of votes are low, we will be rejecting this RFE for AIX.

    Hi, we are going through our backlog and we would like to know if this RFE is still of interest to users on AIX?

    Due to processing by IBM, this request was reassigned to have the following updated attributes:
    Brand - Servers and Systems Software
    Product family - Programming Languages
    Product - C/C++ Compilers

    For recording keeping, the previous attributes were:
    Brand - Rational
    Product family - Design & development
    Product - C/C++ Compilers

    It would be very helpful to us and others if this RFE were included in the upcoming compiler. It would reduce the CPU load on Filers when they have to search for include files in many directories.

    This request is aligned with the current multi-year strategy, but has not yet been put into plan.
