The customer is requesting a RFE for adding a function in IBM cobol to automatically pad as many blanks as needed in READ operations on files, on COBOL programs, and to remove those blanks from WRITE operations. The function should also manage automatically the TAB compression/expansion, by just using an environment variable or switch during compiling/execution.
