We are now generating hundreds of millions of GUIDs using the COBOOL UUID4 function. ANY performance improvements in the future will definitely be appreciated.
I am a capacity planner and prior to recommending the function to the application teams I prototyped in a small COBOL program looping 1 million times. I re-ran the program this morning. I have found it consistently just under 2 mins of CPU for a million GUIDs. Glenn
