Microprofile is aligned with JakartaEE (ex J2EE) standard, javax package has been removed in favour of jakarta ones. Cics Transaction Gateway (and also IMS Connect) still continue to use the old JCA 1.7 and javax.* packages, forcing projects that need to call mainframe to avoid any update.
Having a version of CTG (and IMS CONNECTOR) that fully support JakartaEE standard (jca 2.x). is mandatory for developer who want to still access mainframe from liberty java server.

Hi,
Thank you for taking time for raising this idea. We have delivered basic support recently for Jakarta EE. You can find it in documentation for CICS TG 9.3. We encourage you to try the latest deliverable added for Jakarta EE support and let us know if you have further feedback on this. Some of the other activities related to Jakarta EE are planned for next release very soon.
Thanks
Anu (anubhuti.kaushik@ibm.com)
