CTG EXCI Channel and Container support

CICS V5.4 now enables batch EXCI use of Channel and Containers.

This new function greatly expands the value of EXCI access from SYSPLEX workloads. Developers are in need of larger data conversations which are delivered with a familiar interface.

The CTG utilizes the same SDFHEXCI library, and should follow with a similar upgrade, ASAP.

Existing CICS application code use a CICS API call which returns unexpected INVREQ when ECI calls utilize IPIC connectivity from the CTG.

Subsequently, they look to other technologies to achieve their data requirements.

Whilst this requirement is valid, based on our current plans and priorities for CICS Transaction Gateway, it is not likely that this could be implemented in the next 12 months. Correspondingly this requirement is being declined at this point. The requirement will be kept in the RFE system and might be reassessed in the future. You also have an opportunity to resubmit in twelve months time if you wish it to be reconsidered then.
