Simplify Db2 connection setup with TLS

When setting up a connection to a Db2 for z/OS in IDz 16 you are presented with a rather simple setup screen. There is no option to specify TLS as transport security so all connections are done insecure by default. All the customers I work with tend to only allow TLS connections from outside. So, a connection you can currently setup with the wizard (without going into the optional JDBC parameter pane) will never work.

A basic configuration should be done by IDz itself which sets some good defaults that are used throughout customers. This could be enabled by a check box in the UI.

I specifically had issues with setting up a proper trust store. I don't know if this is a problem with JDBC overall but with RSE we also don't need to provide a trust store. Instead it just asks if one wants to connect to a target and that it cannot verify the name. Something similar should at least be an option here as well.

This should ease the setup of the Db2 for z/OS connections and thus broaden the usage of it immensely.

Thank you for submitting an idea with IDz, we appreciate your input and suggestions to improve our client experiences. Many of our added enhancements come directly from suggestions from our users like yourself. We?ve spent some time evaluating this idea and have concluded that it is not something that we can provide a solution for in the next two years. We will however provide more documentation around this to add more clarity.
