IDz (16.x) : Db2 for z/OS, DDL generation for the dependent UDF objects

Staring IDz 15.0.6 the DDL generation for the complex dependent UDF objects has been deprecated, this particular feature was working correctly until 15.0.5. In our site some appl. developers and DBA(occasionally) uses these features for their regular maintenance/change activities. Moreover MF community was benefitted earlier as it was quite easy to generate DDL in eclipse client. Now they have to switch back to ISPF Db2 admin menu for the DDL generation. After several conversation we came to know some of SQL features are moved to 'data studio' which is no longer accessible in the IDz standard EE suite. From our experience(since last 3~4 years) it would be good to have this feature included back into IDz as it was before. As per discussion with local IBM representative, we propose this idea into IDz forum here. Any further questions? you can revert us back. PMR case linked to this issue is TS009732484

    Hello

This idea ("DDL generation error for the complex dependent UDF object") is applicable to IDz data source perspective alone. Note that this particular functionality might be working already in Db2 admin tool (not sure as we are not from DBA domain but it should be i guess). To be precise, when main UDF is linked to to external dependencies, in those scenarios IDz throws error. I request you to refer all attachments in the PMR case so you get more information around the problem.

Hello and thank you for the submission of this Idea.

In discussion there were a few questions on some of what you submitted and we expected to have a representative who is familiar to you reach out to get clarification but I am not sure if that has happened so I will just use this tool to request more clarification.

Can you provide more details on "DDL generation for the complex dependent UDF objects" as we are not sure what you mean by this. When generating DDL you get the function you select for it one at a time, is our understanding.

Also, could you provide more input on what you are expecting to see for ISPF Db2 Admin Menu for DDL generation?
