This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Z Software products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).

When our customer(MIZUHO BANK) experienced DEADLOCK on IMS DB,
they investigate following materials to determine Winner and Loser transaction.
・DEADLOCK ANALYSIS REPORT(DFSERA10 +DFSERA30 (67FF))
・IRLM LOCK TRACE(DFSERA10 +DFSERA30 (67FA))
・SYSLOG( U0777 ABEND message )
・SMF TYPE 79 SUBTYPE 15
1.Confirm SYSLOG to identify deadlock time.
2.GET OLDS when Deadlock occurred.
3.Get DEADLOCK ANALYSIS REPORT to obtain Blocker/Waiter information.
4.Perform a detailed analysis using above-mentioned reports.
But,above method needs too long time to judge Winner/Loser transaction.
Therefore, customers are demanding to display the information of the blocker / waiter to SYSLOG as DFS2291I message.
DFS2291I message represents Blocker/waiter info when Lock timeout occurred.
I request that above function will be implemented in IMS V13.

Hello Mr Jeff Fontaine, thank you for your reply.
We want to improve both DBs.
But if it cannot, mainly we want you to improve DEDB.
Mainly, they plan to use DEDB.
but they may IMS SQL access that use meta data, IMS Catalog.
IMS Catalog based on HALDB.
Thank you for the detailed description in the RFE. I am currently reviewing the requirement and I have a question about the implementation. Do you need the changes for Full Function databases, Fast Path databases or both types of IMS databases?
Best Regards,
Jeff Fontaine
