RELATED IDEAS

Move Fastpath Lookaside Buffers out of ECSA

Currently VSO lookaside buffers live in ECSA. For users with large amounts of highly used VSO's this means 100's MB's of ECSA can be assigned to the CTL region for these buffers. In a modern IMS system it would make sense for these buffers to me moved out of ECSA and into 64bit (similar to other fastpath buffers)

    Hi Cieron,

    Hope you are well. I wanted to let you know that we are rejecting this Idea / request for enhancement because we will not be able to implement this in the next 18 to 24 months. We are required to reject Ideas that we cannot deliver in the next 18-24 months. However, we have noted this Idea. We have a big scalability project that we will begin work on next year and over the next few years, we plan to focus on scalability in both IMS TM & DB and as we work thru various scalability projects, we will keep this request in mind also. You are also welcome to re-submit this after 2 years. If you have questions. Feel freee to email me at deepakk@us.ibm.com.
