DFSRRC00/BMP and IMSID

BMP runs with DFSRRC00 uses IMSID=xxxx to indicate which IMS the BMP
should connect to. If IMSID used in JCL is an invalid subsystem in the
LPAR, BMP fails with 0688. However if IMSID used in JCL is a valid non-
IMS subsystem, the BMP does not fail with 0688. It either waits or
fails with S0C4 depending on subsystem such as MQ or DB2.

We would like the BMP to fail with 0688 if IMSID used in BMP is non-IMS
subsystem.

    Hi Luxmi Gnanamuttu,

    Thank you for your interest in keeping IMS a vital and successful product. Software development has continuously evolved during IMS's lifetime, and so has IMS itself. We have kept pace with, adopted, and implemented many industry standard best practices within our organization, including Continuous Delivery, Design Thinking, and Agile.

    When choosing new features to add from the list of requirements in our backlog, we assess which will bring the most value to as many clients as possible and prioritize those.

    At this time, after reviewing this request for enhancement and assessing its potential value, we have decided to reject it. The reason we are rejecting RFE ID 98847 is because it is not viable to detect if the IMS ID is a non-IMS system and issue the requested error message. If you have any further question, feel free to let us know.
