Keyword 'ALL' needed for /DIS STATUS command

Current /DIS STATUS command can be issued without any keyword, which can result in massive output messages for all IMS resources generated to WTO.
This can impact the operations of system operators. It also affects overall workload throughput due to high CPU utilization.
To prevent operation failures, a necessary solution is to require specifying "ALL" keyword instead of allowing "no keyword" in /DIS STATUS command when information on all resources is required. If the ALL keyword is valid with /DIS STATUS command, we can also control by using DFSCKWD0 (Command Keyword Table).

    Thank you for your comment. We understand that DFSCCMD0 can be used. However, coding the Exit in  assembler and use it in production systems is not easily accepted by customers because of the maintenance workload. Our customers would prefer that the functionality be provided in parameters.

    Hi,

    Thank you for your interest in keeping IMS a vital and successful product. Software development has continuously evolved during IMS's lifetime, and so has IMS itself. We have kept pace with, adopted, and implemented many industry standard best practices within our organization, including Continuous Delivery, Design Thinking, and Agile.


    When choosing new features to add from the list of requirements in our backlog, we assess which will bring the most value to as many clients as possible and prioritize those.


    At this time, after reviewing this request for enhancement and assessing its potential value, we have decided to reject it. The reason we are rejecting this RFE is the following: There is currently a viable alternative that can be utilized via the Command Security Exit DFSCCMD0.


    We appreciate your input to IMS, and we hope that you will continue to submit ideas for improvements as customer feedback is a key component to shaping the future direction of IMS.
