My Team receive alerts when CF CPU Busy times reaches a determined threshold. After Upgrade from z12 to z14, with option DYNDISP=THIN, we noticed a very considerable increase in the CPU consumption of shared CF processor.
With THIN option, processor only starts to work when receives an interrupt for new request and stops after finishes it, giving up processor. It means for THIN mode we also have Wait Time not computed and the utilization appears much higher than the effective use. This situation is leading us to a lot of false alerts.
We are looking for a way to monitor the effective use of processor to have alerts set up correctly. When checking under RMF, we found Eff_ICF rete field which designates the fraction/portion of shared ICF capacity absorption of one CF LPAR (using shared ICFs) in units of a single ICF.
Today there is no way to monitor the CF processor utilization, considering the above explained scenario and without receive false alerts. That is the reason we would like to have this field/value (that exists in RMF) added into Omegamon.
