This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Z Software products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

A status of Needs more information would be much more useful if there was some way for you to communicate via this RFE with guidance on what you are looking for.
Currently the DADS is populated by datasets on DASD and optionally their associated catalog details. The usefulness of the DADS could be enhanced significantly by including catalog data that has no associated DASD object. For instance, in calculating the number of datasets owned by an HLQ it would be useful if this number could be expanded to include migrated data and even data on tape. Even more useful would be the ability to determine total application size for an HLQ. To do this accurately would require information from data on disk (L0), information from HSM for migrated data (ML1 & ML2) and even information from the tape manager (Tape). The DADS collection should be expanded to include data from HSM and the tape manager. With Object storage open to Z it would also be beneficial to capture data from Advanced Archive and Cloud Tape Connector as well.
