This feature is now available in version 8.0.1 for Windows environments. Support for other platforms is planned for future delivery.
This RFE's Headline was changed after submission to reflect the headline of an internal request we were already considering, but will now track here.
We agree that this enhancement would be valuable for a lot of customers. We have upgraded its status to be a candidate for our next release.
in Brazil we have a database VSAM too high and customers of large corporations who use the product and CSP Vågen who are considering migrating to RBD or RDZ with EGL. But in presenting the great potential of DEBUG, but the use of SNA (APPC) to because of the DFM, the customer is not reluctant to go to the EGL.
There area many customers VAGen and do not use the ITF - Iteractive Test Facility because of the pre-condition of DFM, PComm + SNA (APPC).
in other words, SNA (APPC) is an archaic protocol and it is not being accepted by customeres.
In fact, when we are using RBD with DFM we need to close the VSAM file on CICS. Today, DFM and CICS cannot open a file at the same time. If RBD could use VSAM Files under CICS, it would be possible.
We agree that this is an important requirement, both for z/OS and IBM i. This enhancement is a candidate for implementation in 2010.
