Create an API to enable direct lookup of server JNDI names from EGL code

We have multiple JNDI names created for more than 200 client environments the application caters to. We want the ability to a direct lookup of the JNDI instead of having the corresponding 200 resource reference mapping in WEB.xml. This causes an additional overhead of maintaining these mapping in production environment and also throughout the SQA, UAT and Acceptance phase of the development cycle.

    This feature has been implemented in RBD 8.0.1. It will also be included in 7.5.1.7.

    This request is being accepted, but with caution. This API has been marked as deprecated by WAS, which means they could remove it from their product in a future release.

    However, we recognize that this use case is a valid one that could be important for other customers as well. We have confirmed with WAS development that they do not have any near term plans to actually remove this function.

    Therefore we do agree to implement the requested function. However, if WAS does remove this API in a future release, then the EGL implementation will have to be removed as well.
