This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Z Software products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

Multiple stats are recorded at the ECB level (finds, files, getfcs, creates etc). Some support the ECB resource monitor and ZMOWN uses them to support analysis of resource usage by owner name. PI22609 revised the architecture for TPFDF data collection. Now that stats are maintained continuously we ought to be able to support ECB level counts of key TPFDF activities that ZMOWN can report on to provide greater insight into TPFDF activity hotspots. TPFDF data collection supports multiple counts at both the API level (e.g. DFOPN) and SVC level (e.g find for prime). In theory all these counts could be collected per ECB, however we consider the following to be critical for effective analysis purposes:
1) DF APIs - OPEN, CLOSE, READ, ADD, DELETE, MOD, and REPLACE.
2) SVCs - FIND on prime, FIND on chain, FILE on prime, FILE on chain, GETFC, RELFC
The first phase of ECB-level DF activity tracking need not differentiate counts by subfile ID or lrec primary key within a subfile, but implementing a framework that could be extended in the future to add that support would be useful.
