This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Z Software products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

This requirement is addressed by z/OS Connect Enterprise V3.0.59 / APAR PH47276:
https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/apar/PH47276
IBM z/OS Connect is enhanced to support workload distribution of requests across a group of CICS® regions, using a single connection reference. Workload distribution is configured with a new
zosconnect_cicsConnectionGroup
element. Groups can include other groups and the distribution of requests can be weighted. For further details about CICS IPIC Workload Distribution, refer to the Documentation:
OpenAPI 3 - https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/zos-connect/zos-connect/3.0?topic=sors-cics-ipic-workload-distribution
OpenAPI 2 - https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/zos-connect/zosconnect/3.0?topic=availability-cics-ipic-workload-distribution
We agree with all the comments as well - as we are migrating from CTG to z/os Connect it seems like not having the capability is taking a step backward. Our configuration has multiple z/os connect address spaces communicating to multiple TOR's as well... works PERFECT with CTG.
As we have been ramping up this product we are currently going to a Web Owning region which we have multiple per LPAR and going out to the AOR's and fail over works fine, but we will in the next year or two start to hit a volume that will need a better solution for handling the projected volume that is coming. Thanks Jeff
The development of this RFE is absolutely needed also on my customer shop before going in production. Very similar configuration cannot accept that the first invoked CICS via IPIC would be continuously addressed by workload: this would cause overload of that CICS TOR.
The config available i.e. in CTG to define RoundRobin option or Failover list of CICS's should be provided.
Regarding to
Dynamic Workload Distribution of IPIC traffic from zCEE to CICS I'm asking for your help so that we can get to have completed my proof of concept in my company where z/os instance must have that option do the load balancing with aor's regions.
This has been a stopper in my particular case to get it.
Meanwhile as a tactical solution i'm thinking to call a TOR region and trought CPSM reach my Aor's regions, but again, my question is when we could have this service able in z/os connect?
Thanks!!!

Whilst this requirement is valid, based on our current plans and priorities for IBM z/OS Connect Enterprise Edition, it is not likely that this could be implemented in the next 12 months. Correspondingly this requirement is being declined at this point.
In the short term we aim to deliver RFE 123515: http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/rfe/execute?use_case=viewChangeRequest&CR_ID=123515, which, when used in conjunction with Sysplex Distributor and Port Sharing both in front and behind z/OS Connect EE, will provide a robust and scalable configuration to CICS suitable for the majority of High Availability use cases. Please provide your support for this RFE in the short term.
The requirement will be kept in the RFE system and might be reassessed in the future. You also have an opportunity to resubmit in twelve months time if you wish it to be reconsidered then.
