This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Z Software products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

This requirement is addressed by z/OS Connect V3.0.82 / APAR PH61452:
https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/apar/PH61452
IBM z/OS Connect now provides the capability to compress the JSON request body from
the z/OS Connect Server to the API endpoint using the gzip compression method and to
accept a compressed JSON response body from the API endpoint.
For further details see: Enabling payload compression
😎
This Idea is be accepted for compression of data between z/OS Connect and the API endpoint for API requester. This capability will be implemented in the OpenAP 2 API requester connection code and will be carried into API Requester for OpenAPI 3 when delivered.
IBM Product Team, can we please prioritize and consider this request for implementation? This is needed for one of my key project that will deal with millions of transactions between mainframe and new Next Gen System.
