This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Z Software products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

This RFE has been address by a combination of general support statements associated with WebSphere Liberty 16.0.0.4, or later.
The following levels of z/OS Connect Enterprise Edition include WebSphere Liberty 16.0.0.4, or later:
- V2.0.8 (APAR PI77277)
- V3.0.0 (GA)
Firstly, with the introduction of named-angel support, z/OS Connect is able to work in an LPAR with mixed levels of ANGEL processes:
"Each LPAR can have one default angel process. You can give an angel a name if the angel is started at V16.0.0.4 or later. That angel can become an additional angel process on that LPAR. For more information about angels and LPARs, see Named angel. Where possible, ensure that the default angel process is running at the latest installed level of Liberty on the LPAR. If a Liberty server instance connects to an angel that is running at an earlier service level, some features of the server might not be available."

Secondly, with the interoperability between WOLA link server and WOLA client libraries (in this case, z/OS Connect EE is the WOLA client):
"A client, such as a WOLA link server, should use the program libraries from the most recent Liberty installation that might connect to it. Also, clients such as the WOLA link server are compatible with earlier releases of WOLA client libraries, unless IBM® states otherwise."
