This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Z Software products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

When using SDF as a monitoring platform, it would be beneficial to mark a captured message as "acknowledged" by changing the color of it on the screen without deleting it entirely, so that it can be followed up on or reports made later. At this time, the only way to do this is to use AOCUPDT or AOFCPMSG to delete and re-issue the message as a different severity, losing the original timestamp of the message.
We propose the addition of a way to change the severity or coloring of a captured message without re-issuing the message, in order to keep the original timestamp and other data that may not be propagated in the existing methods.
We also propose the addition of an "acknowledged" severity, or a way to change the coloring of an individual message in SDF and INGMSGS without changing the severity, so that "acknowledged" messages aren't confused with messages that have not been acknowledged. Either way, the re-colored message should then float to the bottom of the SDF messages panel so that it does not appear above unusual/important/critical messages. Our suggested formatting for an "acknowledged" message is green and underlined, so that it's not confused with a normal severity message.
