This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Z Software products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:

The SHIFT function related problem occurred during a testing by client. In summary, an LTP occurrence was not created because the client used SHIFT function incorrectly.
(Please refer to case# TS003497942.)
However, ZWS V9.5 issued neither error nor warning message although the expected LTP occurrence was not created. Therefore, client noticed the trouble for the first time when a scheduling problem occurred. To avoid it, a new error message, notifying clients that the LTP occurrence was not created, is required. In other word, the error message should be issued as one of the error handling on SHIFT function with enhancing ZWS V9.5.
As the result of the discussion on TS003497942 by L2 and L3, they determined that SHIFT related documentation needs to be changed. (Please refer to APAR PH24090.)
I think the change is necessary but combination of the documentation change and the new error message is required to avoid the trouble in production.
