This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Z Software products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

Thank you for submitting this RFE.CICS CM development have given it considerable attention but are not able to address this at this time. Please note that no other customer has requested this. Please see technical reasons for declining this RFE.
CICS CM currently has a method for updating RANA-exit (standards enforcement rules):
• The rules template is edited as a source file.
• A sample job is run to Rexx generate, assemble, link the rules into a program
• The program is NEWCOPY’d in the CICS region.
We understand that running the batch job is cumbersome, or perhaps porting the load module to another LPAR is cumbersome.
The requested flat-file approach removes the running of the gen/asm/link job, but I think does little more than that.
You would still need to (1) edit the file; and (3) copy the file to a target LPAR and/or trigger CICS rules reload/restart.
So essentially, you would only avoid running the sample generate job.
