64-bit support for C/C++ under CICS Transaction Server

One of our customers is creating a C/C++ application for financial services (broker). This application is running in a CICS transaction environment. Because of high transaction workload we are suffering storage constraint because C/C++ is still limited to 31-bit with CICS/TS. Even in CICS/TS version 6.1 beta documentation we still see restriction:

64-bit addressing mode (AMODE(64)) is not supported for C and C++ language programs.

64-bit residency mode
CICS does not support 64-bit residency mode (RMODE(64)) and treats any RMODE(64) programs
as RMODE(31). That is, RMODE(64) programs are loaded into 31-bit (above-the-line) storage,
not 64-bit (above-the-bar) storage.

To keep z/OS an attractive platform for our business partners we need that this restriction is lifted.

Whilst this requirement is valid, based on our current plans and priorities, it is not likely that this could be implemented in the next 12-24 months, or in the next CICS TS release. Correspondingly this requirement is being declined at this point. The requirement will be kept in the RFE system and might be reassessed in the future. You also have an opportunity to resubmit in twelve months time if you wish it to be reconsidered then.
