Enterprise Cobol - Add suboption DUMP where suboption ABD/MSG exists

Some compilation options give the choice between abandoning the program (ABD), or simply sending a message (MSG) in the event of a problem.

We would like an suboption to be added to produce a dump (of the enclave), without stopping the execution of the program.

Reason: the problem encountered can have its origin in another program than the one running (passage of parameters between program). Having a dump allows you to analyze the entire execution context.

Our dump manager eliminates duplicate dumps, but a mechanism built into the generated code could limit the number of dumps produced during a single run: trigger a dump at the first occurrence of the problem, then simply produce a message (like MSG suboption) on the following occurrences.

    Hi,

We have discussed this RFE internally. We would not be able to recognize the same error that occurs multiple times. So users will be presented with a large output.

Also, if you use this under CICS, it will likely cause issues with CICS.

Are these limitations acceptable? We would also have to wait for more votes to see if other clients are also interested in the above solution.

    Thanks.
