Cobol V5 - STGOPT does'nt optimize SQL--* variables created par SQL option

Cobol V5 compiler, as Cobol V4 compiler, can process DB2 SQL commands through the integrated coprocessor (instead of a pre- compilation) .

When the SQL compiler option is enabled, the "automatic" variables SQL - * are created.

We identified a difference in behavior between V4 Cobol and V5 Cobol :
? Cobol V4 with options SQL and OPTIMIZE(FULL) : SQL variables - * are deleted if they are not referenced.
? Cobol V5 with options SQL and STGOPT : SQL variables - * are not deleted even if they are not referenced , which causes a loss of memory space .

This is being considered as a defect. The RFE will be updated, once a fix is available.

I checked stgopt with integrated CICS transalator. In this this case, the allocation of unused DFH-fields is properly suppressed.

Can we get an example of this issue? and the difference between V4 and V5. Also, what version of DB2 is being used?
Also listing file of options would be helpful. Thanks.

I observe more than 4K unused storage in the Working-Storage, which is ignored by STGOPT.
