Double Click of Dataset in JCL

Within JCL, if I double-click on a dataset, only the qualifier I happen to click on is highlighted. This is due to the period being a delimiter.

Due to processing by IBM, this request was reassigned to have the following updated attributes:
Brand - Servers and Systems Software
    Product family - Programming Languages
Product - Developer for System z

For recording keeping, the previous attributes were:
    Brand - Rational
Product family - Design & development
Product - Developer for System z

This feature was delivered for the LPEX editor in RDz 8.5.1.1.

This feature was delivered for the JCL editor in RDz 9.0. Here are some implementation details for the JCL editor:
Double-clicking on a word SHALL select the entire word. Double-clicking after a beginning quote mark or before an end quote mark SHALL select the entire quotation.
Double-clicking after a beginning parenthesis/bracket or before an end parenthesis/bracket will select the entire text between the opening and closing parenthesis/bracket.
Double-clicking on other text will select the "JCL word".  The characters assumed to make up a JCL Word are:
        Letters
        Numbers
        Underscore (_)
        Hyphen (-)
        Period (.)
        Ampersand (&)

This has the result that clicking on part of a data set name or parameter will select the entire entity rather than just a single qualifier in the name.

    I agree with all this:

This should be a progressive selection. First mouse click should position the cursor, second mouse click should select the node, third mouse click should select the dataset name, fourth mouse click should include the member name if specified. If the first mouse click positions the cursor on a member name, the second mouse click should select the member name, the third mouse click should select the dataset name and member name. It would be helpful if this RFE is delivered with RFE 29760. Cut and pasting dataset names is one of the Use Case examples given in RFE 29760

This would be very helpful to allow the mouse clicks to select the entire dataset name and open the file.

This RFE is consistent with our roadmap and is being considered for delivery in the next 2 year time frame. Thanks.
