IDz v14.2.2 does not notification developers about code change in Git remote branch

Customer's original request: IDz v14.2.2 is not showing any notifications in the Git perspective when there are changes on the Git Bitbucket server. This caused developers to use older version of code base. Customer has been using Sourcetree till now and it shows a notification if a local branch goes out of sync with the remote. This enables the developer to keep the local and remote code bases in sync.

IBM Support (William de Sousa) provided the following clarification - If a local branch goes out of sync with a remote branch, is not available on IDz. Sourcetree and other Git clients have a feature usually called auto-fetch, which fetches the remote branches every x minutes, and then notifies / flags the local branches if they're out of sync.

IDz relies on Eclipse's eGit, which unfortunately does not have a similar feature.

As an alternative, the process on IDz would be manual:
- On the Git Repositories view, right-click the repository and select "Fetch from Upstream"
- eGit will fetch the remote repository and present a screen with the differences, letting the user decide if they want to merge or take other actions.

Thank you for taking the time to suggest an enhancement to our product. Many of our product enhancements result from feedback from our customers, so your input is always very important to us. This enhancement request appears to be more specific to Eclipse so we suggest that a enhancement request be opened with Eclipse, you can do that at the following link: https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/
