We have a need for Linux based RD/z

Software developers here will be getting RD/z on their development PCs soon. Another issue for us is that our DR site has only Linux workstations and therefore, currently, has no way of hosting RD/z. So, for us to implement RD/z fully, we would need a Linux based RD/z as well as the conventional Windows based RD/z.

Regards,

Kevin

Use case For our DR site (Linux workstations only) and for people that do NOT need the full RD/z capability. I would think that there would be a business case for IBM to support more than one "level" of RD/z especially with the boomer generation retiring all the time (me soon also). The availability of an RD/z Light would appeal to many companies to encourage more college graduates to work on the mainframe.

Due to processing by IBM, this request was reassigned to have the following updated attributes:
Brand - Servers and Systems Software
    Product family - Programming Languages
Product - Developer for System z

For recording keeping, the previous attributes were:
    Brand - Rational
Product family - Design & development
Product - Developer for System z

Providing a RDz/Light version of the product is currently not in our roadmap. However we will entertain request to support a Linux based client if you can open an RFE request specifically for that support. Thanks.
