RELATED IDEAS

Local COBOL compiler for .NET

Rational Developer for System z is able to compile COBOL locally generating a Windows native DLL. This is very useful for testing. Also, it can be useful to run on a Windows server the same COBOL code running in System z.

The enhancement would consist in generate a .NET DLL instead of a Windows native DLL. Thus, the .NET DLL could be executed into a MS IIS Server or SharePointserver using the .NET framework. The benefits of using the framework are clear (better tracing, debugging, ...).
