Users getting a deletion notification when requested for a read receipt while sending email to shared mailbox

We wanted to know

1) How to disable the sending any read/deletion receipt to the end user via ICC?

2) Is it possible to mark an email as Read via ICC during processing? This can go as an acknowledgment /read receipt to the user that the message was read.

Options already considered:

1. Never send a read receipt in outlook client on the production server – does not have any impact on ICC functionality

2. Remove the disposition notification from message header at mail server end - this increases the amount of emails which fail security checks and the emails will end up the Junk email folder.
