IMS Gateway server name to link to liberty servername

When using E4D to connect to liberty server (with IMS mobile feature pack), first user provides a Name (label), Host name, and Port number to build a new IMS Gateway server. And then the user continues to build IMS Connection profiles, IMS interaction properties profiles, etc. With many developers around, the IMS Gateway server name (label) needs to link to the liberty server name, so that it is more descriptive to all the users, in addition to the first user.

For example, the liberty server name under unix is ZZCSR022 (under directory /var/zosconnect/servers/ZZCSR022/), and the first user defines the IMS Gateway Servers as K2-myserver. After the user connects to the server, we would like the IMS Gateway Servers to show K2-myserver (ZZCSR022). We would build the server to be descriptive and meaningful for our developement community.

    Hi Deyan Zhang,

    Thank you for your interest in keeping IMS a vital and successful product. Software development has continuously evolved during IMS's lifetime, and so has IMS itself. We have kept pace with, adopted, and implemented many industry standard best practices within our organization, including Continuous Delivery, Design Thinking, and Agile.

    When choosing new features to add from the list of requirements in our backlog, we assess which will bring the most value to as many clients as possible and prioritize those.

    At this time, after reviewing this request for enhancement and assessing its potential value, we have decided to reject it. The reason we are rejecting RFE 72989 is because it is currently not technical feasible for to get and link the liberty server name at runtime.
