Add environment variable or equivalent, dummy DD (?), such that a PLIDUMP call can check the existence of the envvar and call Fault Analyzer as part of its processing.

In much earlier versions of Fault Analyzer a zap was provided to the PLIDUMP code such that IDISNAP (Fault Analyzers dynamic call interface) could be invoked as part of a PLIDUMP call, without having to modify the application code. This is no longer applicable however the ability to invoke FA for a PLIDUMP call still exists. In discussion with Peter Elderon he suggested an environment variable that the PLIDUMP code could check for and, if found, invoke FA. I guess this could be made more generic to allow other vendors to use such an interface but that can be design decision. Also I wonder whether a dummy DD as well as an environment variable would add flexibility ?

Can we make this searchable via https://ideas.ibm.com/search?query=plidump somehow ?

Or do I need to add and cross reference this item ?

we will have to make the interface clean enough so that various tools can use it
