This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Z Software products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).

- a PLI V5.2 program runs smoothly but abends with S0C4 when recompiled in PLI V6.1

Presently, the compiler do make the check only if the too big variable is based on the addr of the small variable
Could you kindly add code to check that if
1) a pointer is assigned the address of a variable, i.e. p = addr(a)
2) and that pointer is specified as the basing pointer in the declare of another variable, dcl b based(p)
then if stg(a) < stg(b) issue a :
-W-level message, when the customer accepts a lax option
-E-level message, when the customer refused the lax option
Thank you in advance
