create a javascript clone method to copy records

Assigning an EGL record generates many assignment statements in javascript. These statements could be replaced with a single clone statement. For example, if you have a record with 15 fields, it generates 15 javascript assignment statements:
var otherRec = ...;
var rec1 = new MyRecord();
rec1.field1 = otherRec.field1;
....
rec1.field15 = otherRec.field15;
rec1.setNull(otherRec.eze$$isNull);
if we had a clone method, we could generate this instead:
var otherRec = ...;
var rec1 = egl.clone(otherRec);
This clone method would use reflection to copy all of the values. This addition would help compact the generated javascript and make it easier to debug since you wouldn't need to step through the first MyRecord creation.

    Thank you for this suggestion. We agree that making a change like this would both improve performance and reduce the overall size of the generated code. We will consider this in our planning for future updates.
