This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Z Software products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

z/OS Connect is looking to implement the correlation of Liberty SMF 120 subtype 11 records with the z/OS Connect SMF 123 subtype 1 and 2 records. This will enable customers running z/OS Connect as a native server, or in the z/OS Container Platform, to enable the Liberty SMF 120 subtype 11 records (which contain CPU information) and therefore determine the CPU consumption per API call. We are planning to deliver this capability once Liberty have implemented https://cloud-platform.ideas.ibm.com/ideas/LIBERTY-I-20.
IBM monitoring products would also like to get CPU utilization per API call available in the interceptor.
Correlation is a huge burden on customers with large numbers of requests. We are just beginning our use of z/OS Connect, and when the number of requests are small, correlation is "simple". When we expect the total requests to be in the hundreds of millions, the post processing burden will be large.
This RFE has been evaluated by development and is rejected due to lack of technical feasibility. The strategic direction for IBM z/OS Connect EE is to pursue RFE 87861 which will provide correlation at request level end to end, and this will deliver the ability to isolate the proportion of response time due to zCEE in an end-to-end analysis - either through on-line monitoring or SMF post-processing.
