z/OS Connect EE 3.x - SMF 123 enhancement to capture failure events

Part of enhancing SMF 123 record structure for z/OS Connect (both API provider and API requester), Please consider to capture ONLY the first failure (similar to FFDC) related data for any repeated USER enforced failures..
Eg., Authorization failure for an API or API requester using a particular SERVICE ID to be reported only for the first time and NOT every request that get posted. We don't want SMF data to get overloaded with such repeated data

This requirement has been evaluated. Looking at current plans, it is not likely that this would be implemented in future zOS Connect EE releases, so correspondingly this requirement is being rejected.

    - SMF 123 is used for audit so we cannot omit detail.
    - Since records are append only cannot go back and add counts to older "duplicate failure" records.
    - Data from valid workload (successful requests) will likely form the majority of SMF data under normal circumstances so there is little savings to gain here.
    - Requests in error are only likely to contribute significantly to the amount of SMF data if you are under a serious attack (in which case you'll want the data for analysis)

You have an opportunity to resubmit in twelve months time if you wish it to be considered then.
