This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Z Software products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

Thank you for taking the time to suggest an enhancement to our product. Many of our product enhancements result from feedback from our customers, so your input is always very important to us; however, we have no plans to change the ADCD default at this time as our understanding is that it is no longer a requirement. If this is not the case, please let us know. Again, thank you for your suggestion and continued support.
The adcd volumes should not be required for Tools for a deployment of the adcd volumes to be in a directory named "adcd".
If additional info and clarification is required, please advise.
Thank you for submitting this RFE! The IBM team needs some additional information to evaluate this RFE. In the base directory that is specified on the image storage settings page, you are required to create a directory that is labeled adcd. The base directory where the IBM Z Development and Test Environment data is stored on the image storage server can be defined to what ever you set up. It does not have to be in the path /home/ibmsys1/zDT/adcd, only the adcd part is not user defined. Is the issue that you do not want to require the adcd directory? If so, can you please explain the issues?
