This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Z Software products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

Thank you for submitting this RFE. IBM has evaluated the request and has determined that it can not be implemented at this time or does not align with the current multi-year strategy. This request may be resubmitted for consideration after 12 months from the date of decline. We appreciate you taking the time to submit this request.
Thank you for submitting this RFE. This is consistent with our plans for the product and will be prioritized for future consideration. The following are some comments on what may be provided: When AWSSTOP is issued it calls each zPDT process to close down. This means that all open zPDT emulated DASD files will be closed, however, those requests do not use the FSYNC option so the Linux file cache would not be purged. We will look at changing zPDT such that as part of AWSSTOP we will add the FSYNC option. Note that it is still required to do a controlled application and OS shutdown first as the correct procedure in this situation.
Thank you for submitting this RFE. Your input is important to us and IBM is continuing to evaluate.
