This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Z Software products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

The job mentioned in this RFE (CIUUPDB) transfers the data collected in VSAM files to IA DB2 tables. The step091 which is of concern transfers the Db2 resource data which CICS IA has collected to respective Db2 tables. So basically whatever data exists in VSAM files is transferred to Db2 tables, which means if huge data is collected in VSAM files the output is supposed to be more.
We do not have the files anymore that the customer has provided at the time of opening the RFE which could have provided more details. Our belief is that Restore data field to ‘Y’ was used. This caused old data to be preserved in VSAM files and at time of running the CIUUPDB job it is processing huge number of Duplicate data(which is already loaded to Db2 tables in previous run of the job). Probably this can be addressed by updating the collector configuration and changing Restore data field to ‘N’ if you have transferred previous content of VSAM files to Db2 tables and you do not want or need to preserve that data in the VSAM files.
Unfortunaely we have to reject this RFE as there is not much that can be done in CIUUPDB. The content of VSAM files should be transferred to Db2 tables based on the collector ID given while running the job. If the same collector ID is used every time then the existing records will be rejected as Duplicate data and if new collector id is used while running the job then entire content of VSAM file should be copied to Db2 tables.
We will investigate the possibility of using a JCL option to reduce the amount of output in SETP091.
