Reduce TCB switches for CWXN

We are trying to adopt threadsafe techniques for our applications, but our largest opportunity is with transaction CWXN, which has hundreds of millions of TCB switches per day. Most if not all of these are due to switching between the QR, SO, and S8 TCBs. Can CWXN be made threadsafe so that SO and S8 TCB calls are all made from the same TCB?

    This RFE is satisfied by CICS TS 5.3 which is generally available from December 11th 2015.

    TCB switching in sockets domain has been reduced. The socket listener task CSOL is optimized to directly attach user transactions for fast arriving HTTP requests. This means the web attach task is bypassed, therefore reducing the CPU time that is required to process each request.

    This RFE is satisfied by CICS TS 5.3 which was announced on October 5th 2015 with a planned general availability date of December 11th 2015.

    Trying to reduce TCB switching in the sockets and SSL areas is a long term aim, but will need careful research as to its feasibility. The requirement will be marked as an uncommitted candidate. Should investigations prove successful then it may be brought forward as a candidate for inclusion in a future release. If not possible then the requirement may be rejected in the future.
