This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Z Software products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

We had a discussion this morning during the CPSM Community conference call. It was suggested that I submit this through the RFE process.

Please update the "CICSPlex SM resource tables" documentation so that more information is given on the real source of a field. It's insufficient to say the source is 'STAT' for CICS Statistics or 'INQ' for an inquire. What we need to have here are the actual field names used to get that information. Here are two examples of recent PMRs where having this info in the doc would have either let a customer solve the problem on their own or speed up the L2 resolution:
.
80644,235,631 - customer writing CPSM API program against MVSTCBGL, asked about two fields in particular, CICSTCBTIME and NCICSTCBTIME. All that the Knowledge Center doc provides is that CPSM is getting the data for these fields from 'STAT', meaning CICS Statistics. That is not helpful, to either the customer or to the Level 2 service group. What we need to know is WHAT field in CICS this is pulled from. In the case of the above two fields, this is the type of information that needs to be documented:
.
CICSTCBTIME comes from DFHDSTDS field DSTDS_CICSTCB_CPUTIME
NCICSTCBTIME comes from DFHDSTDS field DSTDS_NONCICSTCB_CPUTIME
========================================================================
78064,499,000 - Customer writing API program against CICSRGN table. Asked about field TOTLTASKS. We say in the KC that it comes from 'STAT':
.
Name Datatype Source Len Sum Set Description Attr ID
TOTLTASKS BINARY STAT 8 AVG No Total number of tasks 143
.
That's not helpful if you don't also tell us what field it got it from. In this case, it should have also stated
.
TOTLTASKS comes from DFHXMGDS field XMGTNUM
.

This requirements has been re-assessed. We have no plans for this to be implemented and so this requirement is being declined at this point. The requirement will be kept in the RFE system and might be reassessed in the future. You also have an opportunity to resubmit in twelve months time if you wish it to be reconsidered then.
