IMS Catalog Utility to include enhanced metadata.

The IMS Explorer facilitates the capture of more metadata for an IMS database than previously was stored in the IMS DBD. With Explorer, the
extra metadata information from the COBOL copybooks can be captured and added to the DBD.
The enhanced DBD can then be generated back on the host system and included in the catalog.

The enhanced DBD is needed for other tasks, e.g. SQL against an IMS database. So enhanced DBDs is something we would like to use for all
our IMS databases.

With Explorer you work with one DBD at a time and for this DBD you capture metadata from the COBOL copybook for one segment at a time.
You map each segment with its COBOL copybook layout.

To do this for a group of DBDs, e.g. all DBDs for an application, takes a long time. If there was a utility it would simplify this job.
In the input for this utility you specify the DBD and its segments and for each segment its mapping COBOL copybook layout.

We don't have any exact requirements for the placement of such a utility. If it can be used within Explorer it would be fine. Then you
can import the DBDs you wish to enhance. And the procedure to enhance a whole DBD or a group of DBDs would be similar to the way you enhance one segment at a time today.
