RELATED IDEAS

Need support for 2D drawing, local browser storage, and animation

Technology previews for local browser storage, 2D drawing, and animation have all been made available for EGL in the past (via entries on the EGL community blog). All three of these previews are of great value to the community and extend the capabilities of EGL in significant and meaningful ways for rich web development. The functionality represented by these previews should be incorporated as formally supported features of the rich user interface packages.

    Thank you for this input. We agree that it would be great for RBD to provide a broader set of widgets built into the product. However, it is not likely to be a high priority for the product in the next two-year horizon, because this is something that users can do for themselves. We have provided samples to show how widgets can be adapted to work with EGL. We encourage our users to share their expertise, and their widgets, on the EGL Cafe
