This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM Z Software products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

Thank you for this input. We recognize the value of upgrading to JSF 2.0, both for the new features and for general currency. However, this is unlikely to be implemented within the next couple of years, so we are rejecting the RFE, in order to set your expectations realistically.
RBD does inherit quite a bit of its JSF support from RAD, but there are big technology differences in JSF 2.0, which RBD would need to adapt to. This would be very costly to implement. For example, our debugger is unique to RBD (not inherited from RAD), and debugging JSF 2.0 would require essentially a complete new implementation.
While we know that many of our clients are using JSF, for RBD the Web 2.0 Rich UI technology is more strategic as we look forward. Therefore we are unlikely to make such a large investment in enhancing JSF.
