API toolkit - API Requestor capability

Currently the toolkit provides little or no support for creation, generation or deployment of API requestor services. In tandem with API's with multiple services and complex / large data structures this leads to consider devt overheads using the tool to exploit external APIs.

Enhance the API ZOS Connect EE eclipse tooling to include API requestor (aka "Outbound") design, delivery and deployment facilities.

Allow for toolkit users to select all services or a set of services from the SWAGGER document.

Place copybooks for each service into a separate Unix or Windows directories.

Allow the user to see the data structures and the sizes of the data structures which will be generated for each service.

Present full diagnostics on where the SWAGGER file has syntax issues.

This is a strategic requirement that is part of our long term roadmap.

Shifting API requester from being command line driven to being UI driven will take some careful design consideration and may take some time to deliver. We are currently seeking participation in our design program to help us develop our initial designs. If you are interested in joining us on this journey to shape the delivery of capability, please sign up to the Z Client Feedback program via the link below, indicating your interest in z/OS Connect EE:
