Suppress empty tags with option indicator

We think the combination of (a) option to suppress empty tags and (b) hex'00' low value, if both combinations are true, then suppress. So conversely if the blanks, and zeros are validate values. This is so that calling applications don't have to spend resource to deal with empty fields. IBM pointed out additional considerations with the blank truncation that's currently in place now. This can introduce an additional inspection of the data contents which can be a performance and cost hit of the transaction. We will need the option to be at each Service for that level of granularity due to performance and run time cost considerations.

This requirement is addressed by z/OS Connect Enterprise Edition V2.0 APAR PI73978 (V2.0.7), by the addition of support for array truncation in the data transformation components which use WSBind files.

For details of this continuous delivery offering, refer to the APAR description:

We also have cases where existing IMS transactions rely on low-values to determine processing of individual fields (ie if field is low-values then update to database)

This functionality is essential for my company as well. The added expense to the client and network is casting unfavorable light on what we see as an, otherwise, very favorable solution.
